What age can children start skiing and snowboarding?
Children can start skiing from age 4 and snowboarding from age 8.
Do I need any previous experience?
No. Our Stage 1 lessons are designed for complete beginners with no prior snow sports experience.
What should I wear?
Please wear full-length clothing and gloves. Waterproof clothing is recommended, but lightweight sportswear is suitable in warmer weather.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Helmets are mandatory for participants under 18 and for certain activities.
Helmet hire is available on-site and we recommend all participants wear one.
Is equipment included?
Equipment hire is included with all lessons and activities.
Can I bring my own equipment?
Absolutely! Personal equipment may be checked by our instructors before use to ensure it is safe and suitable for the slope.
Can I watch my child's lesson?
Yes. Viewing areas are available around the slope.
Are artificial slopes like real snow?
Yes. Artificial slopes provide an excellent environment for learning and developing skiing and snowboarding skills all year round.
Is there food and drink available?
Light snacks and hot and cold drinks are available from our vending machines.
Can I teach my friend or family member on the slope?
No. Only qualified instructors authorised by Alpine Snowsports Centre may provide instruction on the slope. If you hold appropriate qualifications and insurances, please speak to us about private hire opportunities.
What if I don't know which lesson stage to book?
Contact our team and we’ll help you choose the most suitable lesson based on age and previous experience.
What are the requirements for Open Practice, Fresh Tracks and Full Slope Fridays?
Participants must be able to control their speed and direction, stop safely and use uplift systems independently.
What are the requirements for Ringo sessions?
Participants must be at least 8 years old and a minimum of 1.1m tall. Participants must follow all instructions given by staff during the activity.
Are private lessons just for one person?
No. Private lessons can be booked for groups of 1–6 participants, making them ideal for individuals, families and groups of friends.
Can adults and children take part in the same private lesson?
Yes. Private lessons can be booked for mixed-age family groups, subject to the instructor’s assessment and the participants’ ability levels.
What happens if it rains?
Our activities operate in most weather conditions. Please dress appropriately for the forecast and bring a change of clothes if required.
How early should I arrive?
We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your session start time to allow time for check-in and equipment fitting. If it is your first visit, we advise arriving 30 minutes prior to your session time.
